Though you may not know it..
I love cooking and I am VERY good at it..
I taught myself how to bake from scratch a few years ago and I can't go back to baking a cake from the box (though I'm not downing anyone who does)
I just love finding new recipes
On Thursday, i think, I heard about Shepard's Pie.
Now.. I've eaten and cooked and baked all sorts of things but had never heard of Shepard's Pie.
So..

 I google and googled my heart away until I came across Rachel Ray's version of Shepard's Pie, which I, in turn tweaked to make my own.
I don't eat beef so I used ground turkey
I also don't really care for carrots unless I'm making carrot cake so i used sweet peas and corn as vegetables.  I also couldn't resist sprinkling cheese on the top of the potatoes.
I used more potatoes than the recipe called for so I used more egg yolks.
The result was absolutely LOVELY!
It tasted so good.

I broke down...

and purchased nail polish. WHY OH WHY???

I attempted to do a THREE month No-Buy but unfortunately I didn't make it for the complete three months.  I made it at least a month, I think..

Anywho, I need a place where I can get some newer collections of popular brands of nail polish for a lower price thant they usually ar.  The place that i normally go hasn't been updating their collections for a while now.  I'm lucky if I find something new.  They sell Essie for 3.65 Orly 3.65 ChG 2.75 Color Club 2.00 and O.P.I. 4.99

Moving right along, I purchased

I will have a couple more hauls for you in the next week to two weeks.  I made a couple of orders online and they should be coming in  Some are makeup and i have one more nail polish haul.  Then I am seriously on a NO BUY because school is going to start soon and I have to save all that  I can.  BUT I am interested in swapping for a few colors that I've been lemming.  And I'm more than willing to swap makeup for nail polish.

I've decided that i no longer wanted to hosts two separate blogs.  My makeup blog and my nail polish blog have now been combined.  Keep in my mind that I'm working on changing my background and header ... along with a few other things.

If you are not okay with the new changes, I'm not sure what to tell you [kick rocks!!]
But makeup and nail polish deal with beauty and I love all things beauty!

I know I haven't posted in a while, but it's because I haven't been doing my nails.
My nails look like crap on a dried stick..
and even then i still think my nails look worse.
I'll spare you and not even show a picture.

But I do have some sorta good news.  In the next coming weeks, I'll be hosting a collaboration contest along with Tab over at Confessions... There are going to be lots of prizes, makeup and hair.. so stay tuned for that.  The details will be posted both on my YT channel and on my makeup blog.

FYI... I'm a freelance MUA.  I have been planning and organizing a few photo shoots for which I'll be doing the makeup in the next couple of weeks. I also booked a rather large wedding party.  Well the bride and her 9 bridesmaids.  that wedding will be 7/24.

Quick Guest Mani

First off, Blogger is ALWAYS changing.  I LOVE THAT!!.. I change a lot as well, but these changes that Blogger is making are making it more appealing, more attractive.  Kinda makes me want to sit in front of my laptop even more. UGH. lol.

Anyhow, this is a quick mani that I did on my niece.  I also was the one to do her acrylic set.  I used the new BM image plates and even tried my hand at a little layering.  Believe me when I say i'm a novice when it comes to the whole stamping thing but Lisa of Glammed Up is the epitome of an expert.  I over lover her work. UGHH. If only i was that good.....
On to the photo. Yes. singular. Not plural. JUST ONE. I know that's lame, but it's all I have.

Sorta Kinda Mini Haul

 Below is a swatch of China Glaze Chocodisiac. It's a jelly based nail polish.  Shown is three coats.  Not the easiest of applications, but wasn't too much of a hassle as well. Not a color I would reach for.

IRL my nails DID NOT have the blind spots that I'm noticing in the photo above.  This is China Glaze Seduce  Me which is a mixture between creme and jelly.  Love the color though.  In the picture it looks more on the red side when IRL it has a lot of burgundy tones.  GORGEOUS color. 

Swatch SPAM!!!

The polishes you are about to view were in no way harmed during this swatching session, the majority of them were, however, were purchased on sale. Pwah ha ha ha ha 

First up is Sally Hansen HD in Hi-Def.  This was three coats, no topcoat and was uber sheer.  

The next swatch is SH InstaDri in Silver Sweep. This metallic beautiful color was only ONE coat.  I heard  read somewhere that the InstaDri polishes were super too stamp with so of course I had to try, and it worked like a charm.  unfortunately I didn't have any camera near me. UGH! but don't feel bad, I didn't do a whole mani or anything. 

Color Me Purple

Well, I have been in a hair rut for a little while.
I finally took down the loc style that I had and have been having to deal with a lot of "blah" with my hair.
So I thought i would try my hand with blowing it out and flat ironing it...
And with no avail, this was the result.

I was able to enjoy straight hair for all of five minutes.. my hair just wouldn't cooperate and so i took down the high pony bun and then it looked like : (pic below) 

So I was SOOO over this non-straight but flat hair so I decided that I would color my hair.. What color to chose? I eventually went with Jet black from dark & Lovely 

and this uber bright purple from Splat called "Lusty Lavender"

but unfortunately it didn't go the way I wanted.  The purple looks more like burgundy. UGH!! so today i will be doing bantu knots in my hair.. hopefully I will have NICE pictures to share... and I can finally come out of this stupid hair rut! 

Oh I forgot to mention that my hair wasn't looking pretty so I CUT and AMPLE amount off.  Plus it has been breaking. so, yeah.. I'm really not happy with it.. and I can't wait to get a style with weave. OH EM GEE!!!!
